Fairfield, Conn., October 24, 2008 The Defense Media Activity command of the U.S. Department of Defense renewed its contract with TVEyes for real-time video monitoring and archive search, in support of the Office of the Secretary of Defense. TVEyes was selected after an open bidding process that invited all industry participants to compete.
“We in OSD Public Affairs have been pleased at the quality of not only the TVEyes product, but of the service received. The overall timeliness and responsiveness was instrumental in renewing our contract,” said Harold Heilsnis, director, OSD Public Affairs, Pentagon.
TVEyes offers real-time tracking and historical search of U.S. and international broadcast television and radio via its continuously updated database. Users are alerted and can search topics based on a Spoken Word Indexâ„¢ that retrieves television and radio clips and presents them for viewing in a Web-based environment. These clips can be saved in files and/or e-mailed as well as downloaded. Users can search the database and be alerted against keywords in English, Spanish, Chinese and Arabic with real-time language translation.
The competition for this contract was based on functional capability, coverage of U.S. and global broadcasts, and overall value to the Department of Defense, said David Ives, CEO, TVEyes. The open nature of the bidding process made it possible for DoD to consider all possible options for this broadcast media tracking and research application. We are pleased that TVEyes will continue to have this opportunity to contribute to the mission of the Defense Media Activity command.
